Angelina Jolie’s Indian Bungalow Details

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who are here to shoot for a film, may shift from a five-star hotel to a private bungalow.
Angelina and Brad, who arrived here Thursday with their three children, are staying at Hotel Le Meridien where they plan to shoot a film – “The Mighty Heart” – on slain American Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.
Two more bungalows were booked at the Sindh Society colony at Aundh, an upmarket area in the western part of the city, for the couple, sources said.
Hectic renovation work is underway at bungalow no. 132, Bhallahs Kutir, and bungalow 109, which is without a nameplate and owned by a Mumbai-based businessman, they added.
The compound walls of bungalow 109, which has a sprawling front-yard with black iron gates, have been increased to 10 feet.
The two houses are close to bungalow 223, Nayansukha, a private house to be used as Pearl’s residence and office in the film. Security has been beefed up at this house round the clock. Angelina, who is set to play the role of Pearl’s widow Marianne, will be staying here during the filming.
Outside the house are parked two Hyundai taxis freshly painted in yellow, bearing the numbers PH 3305 and PL 2077 with ‘KARACHI’ written below the number plate.
Foreign and Indian production teams will be staying in bungalows in the Sindh Society colony where more than a dozen palatial houses belonging to businessmen and high-profile lawyers lie unoccupied.
Sources also said the colony and the Nayansukha bungalow were selected for their resemblance to Pearl’s Karachi home.
It is believed that Angelina will shift to Abb’s Palace, a 30,000-sq-ft residential bungalow owned by real estate biggie Avinash Bhosale in Baner located not far away from the Sindh Society.
The bungalow, spread over 12 acres of lush green land with a clubhouse, helipad and hangar, is also one of the locales for the big budget film.
The posh palatial farmhouse of industrialist Cyrus Poonawalla, located in the eastern part of the city, is also being considered for the star couple.
According to hotel sources, Angelina, Brad and their three children – Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh – tasted Indian food for lunch Saturday.
“They ordered chicken biryani, steamed rice, tandoori chicken, dal tadka, mutton rogan josh and bread. They seemed to have liked the food.”
The hotel staff also said the couple were cool, normal and warm people.
The family is tipped to visit the Katraj snake park Sunday along with the children’s nanny.
“I have no idea (about such a visit). I am hearing it from you,” Neelam Kumar Khaire, the director of the Katraj snake park, told IANS.
Located about eight kilometres from the Le Meridien, the snake park, set up in 1986, has more than 160 species of rare reptiles.
